John Henry Johnson Parkway
Pittsburg, CA 94565
Visitors are always welcome to the DVRC airfield. Weather permitting, our club meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month at 10 AM in the pits.
The airfield field is located in Stoneman Park in Pittsburg, California. For directions to our club, please use the Google Map below for John Henry Johnson Parkway, Pittsburg. Below is a static map that will help you navigate the gravel road to our airfield.
The best time to visit our club is in the morning since most of our members leave by 12PM
- There are 4 gates that lead to our airfield. Follow your driving instructions to John Henry Johnson Parkway where you will see a metal gate. Gate 1 is controlled by the City of Pittsburg and generally locked until 8am. The City will lock Gate 1 at dusk. Follow John Henry Johnson Parkway for about 200 yards where the road meets a "Y" intersection.
- Turn right into the driveway where you will see a second gate, Gate 2, which is locked by a chain of several locks to allow several agencies, including DVRC, access to the road. When unlocked, the chain will be looped over the gate ring to keep it closed. If Gate 2 is locked, it means there are no club members at the airfield so you will not be able to view the airfield.
- Follow the gravel road and enter the third gate, Gate 3. Drive up the gravel road and turn right at the next "Y", which leads to the fourth gate, Gate 4, and to our DVRC flying site.
- With the exception of Gate 1, always close each of the gates behind you since cows graze all year round throughout the surrounding areas.
If you would like to visit the airfield please contact our Membership manager and provide your contact details so that we can arrange to meet you there.
